In a process to patent new technology advances

Odin Group, aware of the importance to research and innovate in companies nowadays, has presented four invention patent requests to the Trade and Commerce state Superintendent, (SIC). This allows the company to achieve the product differentiation and more competitiveness in local and international market.

Of these technologic advances in which Odin Group is working through its Researching and Development Division, three, belong to Odin Energy Santa Marta Corporation and one to Odin Petroil S.A.

Those which Odin Energy is working in are aimed to get new methods in laboratory analysis of Biodiesel properties and biofuel improvement. In the same way, Odin Petroil S.A. is researching to find a heavy fuel oil from petroleum, which will be less pollutant.

The Researching Department is conformed, among others professionals, by the engineers Nercy González, Carlos Grateron Santos and Ivan Mercado Díaz.

Currently, was published in The Official Gazette of Industrial Property in March edition, the topic "Method for the Determination of Fames (Fathy Acid Methyl Ester) in Biodiesel through gas chromatography", which is relating to a modern test method of laboratory, that allows to determinate the Biodiesel purity, obtained from palm oil. This will make easier to do a more specific and detailed analysis of this liquid biofuel, in comparison with those made with traditional methods.

The CEO of companies group, Mr. Mamoru Saito, who has done a relevant investment in state-of-the-art laboratories to analyze the Biodiesel and other products that are sold by the organization, highlighted the importance to find other alternative and innovating sources to produce energy which will be clean, renewable, of high quality and with the commitment to protect the environment.
